In 2006 BMW delivered the first FlexRay based vehicle to the street.
FlexRay was mainly used because of its determinism and its bandwith inside the new model of the BMW X5
One application of FlexRay within the BMW X5 can is the ability to choose different types of shock absoption; the difference between a hard responsive or softer ride on the fly.
